Tremendous things happened at the memorial site this week. Our committee is extraordinarily thankful for the work done - and donated - by Terry Miller. Somehow he managed to get the dirt hauled in (and a huge Thank You to Tom Hoehn for delivering the 17 yards of soil!) and leveled. The seed for next spring has already been sown as well. Then in the blink of an eye Terry and Joe Koberoski brought in and planted 5 evergreens around the memorial site and one just across the way. The trees not only add to the beauty of the location, but will serve to give families some privacy during their reflection as well. So when I stepped for the first time on the walkway of the memorial, surrounded by freshly planted trees, and with the whisper of sunlight breaking through the clouds, the tears came. This serene, sacred place which honors the lives children who die during pregnancy is no longer just a dream of families in the community. The generosity, hard work, and dedication by those who have given selflessly of their time, energy, money, and resources is appreciated beyond measure. We still have more work to do - and hope that if you haven't had time yet to donate or order a paver that you consider doing so to help us complete the project. Take the time to stop by Calvary Cemetery and visit this new memorial. It truly is a remarkable space where hope takes flight.
