An Evening of Remembrance

Join us Tuesday, October 3 at 6:00 pm at the Wings of Hope memorial site.
Evening of Remembrance
All who have been affected by pregnancy loss are invited to attend this ecumenical service. As October is the month of remembrance, we will include a candle lighting portion of the service. Bring your own or use one of ours. This service will include a burial.
Letters to Littles
So many parents grieve the loss of a child but do not have remains for burial. We understand this can compound the grieving process. For this Evening of Remembrance we invite all parents who have experienced loss to write a letter to their little one and we will add that letter to the burial urn. You can mail those to us or email them and we will print them. If you're sending them to the PO box, go ahead and write something on the envelope flap so we know it is for the Evening of Remembrance.

What is an Evening of Remembrance?
Every second Thursday in May and first Tuesday in October we hold an Evening of Remembrance at the Wings of Hope memorial site, located in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. The service begins at 6:00 pm and is for all who have been affected by pregnancy and newborn loss.
Services include music, prayers, a time for reflection, and an opportunity for families to place flowers at the memorial site in remembrance of their children. Area faith leaders and local musicians take turns helping us to lead these ecumenical services.
What is the burial option for families?
Twice each year during the Evening of Remembrance (or as needed by the community), Wings of Hope provides for a burial option for families who experience miscarriage before 20 weeks gestation. We work with Mankato Mortuary, at no cost to families, to provide a shared burial vault and burial space at the Wings of Hope site.
Not all families have remains for burial, which is why all families who have experienced pregnancy loss and newborn death will be invited during the service to place flowers at the burial vault in recognition of all children who have been lost. The Wings of Hope committee provides fresh cut flowers. You are also welcome to bring your own if preferred.
It is our mission as a committee to be able to provide you, the families who have lost children, with a comforting and compassionate service. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
